I believe leaders and organizations hold the answers within; I help them explore what’s possible.
My role is to create space and conditions for thinking, pausing, unpacking, and experimenting; so new insights, perspectives, tools, and ways forward can emerge.
Growth doesn’t come from doing more, but from connecting our authentic being to what matters most and knowing that will evolve over time.
I’ve always been a striver—to achieve, succeed, help others, and make good things happen. And when I hit a wall, I learned to integrate what’s most important to me so I could thrive as well. Now, I help leaders and organizations avoid the wall by creating habits and practices that sustain both performance and well-being.
For more than 25 years, I served as a Chief Human Resources Officer across industries including sports media, medical manufacturing, and distribution. I excelled at driving results, shaping culture, and helping leaders succeed. But I also centered my life on work demands and the needs of others, while ignoring my own. The relentless pace, responsibility, and my own unrealistic expectations eventually caught up with me.
That was a turning point. I realized my impact as a leader couldn’t be sustained by intensity alone. Leadership requires clarity, energy, and courage to pause, to reconnect with what matters most.
So I slowed down to evaluate. I began running, hiking, and spending time in nature again. I reconnected with family and friends. I sought perspective through study, coaching, and reflection. In doing so, I found a new rhythm, a way to live and lead that is grounded, intentional, and human-centered.
That personal reset became the foundation for LAY-Up Coaching & Consulting—a practice built on the belief that leaders can achieve extraordinary results without losing themselves in the process.
The name LAY-Up comes from my initials (L.A.Y.) and, like a lay-up in basketball, it’s about fundamentals. Leadership excellence is a journey—one built on awareness, practice, and feedback. A coach helps you notice small adjustments, experiment with new approaches, and adapt with purpose.
Today, I integrate business acumen, positive psychology, and behavioral science to help executives and teams cut through complexity, reclaim their energy, and define success on their own terms. Because when leaders thrive—personally and professionally—organizations and communities thrive too.
High-achievers are always looking for the edge—the adjustment, the skill, or the perspective—that drives results while also creating efficiency and ease. With small, intentional shifts and consistent practice, leaders can transform their outlook, relationships, and results.
